deleting message loses selection and position #3

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. engage seek
2. scroll to the middle of a long message list
3. select a message and press the del key

Normally, thunderbird doesn't move the scroll position and leaves you with
another message selected.

When seek is on, deleting a message scrolls back to the top of the message
list and deselects all messages.
