On https://pharo.org/community for TWITTER currently only

But we have so many other Pharo TWITTER users in our community:

https://twitter.com/juldelplanque https://twitter.com/2denker https://twitter.com/StOnSoftware https://twitter.com/SergeStinckwich https://twitter.com/nourybouraqadi https://twitter.com/oleks_lviv https://twitter.com/cdrick65 https://twitter.com/tomooda https://twitter.com/majcon https://twitter.com/allex_oliveira https://twitter.com/Chis_Andrei https://twitter.com/myroslavarm https://twitter.com/TorstenAstares https://twitter.com/alexbergel https://twitter.com/girba ... to name just a few - with the numbers growing.

I guess it would not make sense to mention each single Twitter user from the community to follow. As a community project we should also not favour single tweeting members like Stef in favour of others.

I value a lot what Stef does for the Pharo project - but many people devote their time. We have the same issue for the blogs: we should not favour single ones (see issue #4490)

So I would propose to change the community site to only include:

The second one is an aggregator for overall ST community, included tweets from all the members of Smalltalk and primarily Pharo community and is therefore mostly about Pharo project.

If we like we can later also setup an own Twitter aggregator.

Would be nice to have a page that everybody can update. When I edited this page the official pharo project twitter account did not exist.

Now we should control the aggregator and the pharo board should validate this.

Who is behing aggregator because you see I see this tweet

Amber Smalltalk @AmberSmalltalk · 16h The latest The Amber Smalltalk Weekly! https://paper.li/AmberSmalltalk/1563139060?edition_id=f2ee6290-cf16-11e9-96a4-0cc47a0d15fd… Thanks to @esugsmalltalk

@SergeStinckwich

@stephaneducasse

smalltalk #abortionismurder

With Abortionismurder in the amberSmalltalk tweet.

I prefer to have a list of possible tweets and that people select the ones they want. Now the amber smalltalk tweet is banned from my list.

I don‘t like the idea of an aggregator. What we want is to know what people do with pharo and not what their opinions are. A twitter account is for expressing opinions from a person. A hashtag related to a topic like pharo. So the content we are looking for a stream of things having a hashtag of #pharo or a mention of @pharoproject. Each tweet then refers to the person that has written it. And we don‘t need to control that. People are used to social media and know that it was a single person with an opinion. And we don‘t need to include amber smalltalk tweets. It is about pharo not about things being smalltalk

I disagree with an aggregator other than something us can control. Also, I do not care about an smalltalk aggregator. Of course I'm ok with it to exist, but a smalltalk aggregator is not a pharo aggregator (yes, it exceed and includes it, but is not the same).

And in general lines, to answer Stef, precisely today (after reading some mails in list) I was thinking as a community we should adopt what has been the "common sense" in Europe after the war, the intolerance paradox: "Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them."

So we need to stand up agains intolerance, by not tolerating them :)

I'm not a big twitter user, but it would seem better for https://pharo.org/community to recommend hashtags to publish/follow rather than accounts of individual community members (i.e. excepting @pharoproject account controlled by the board excepted). So perhaps the page should be updated something like... TWITTER

pharo is used for a lot of things not related to Pharo or Smalltalk.

I changed the web page and I separated my tweeter from the official pharo and I added a list of possible tweet sources.
