Chromecast player choosing low variants even though network speed is High(smooth streaming with playready DRM ) #691

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Run app with chromecast and select a movie to play (smooth streaming with 
playready DRM )
2. Observe the  video quality in tv and console logs shows player playing low 
variants.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
If the internet speed is high player should choose high HD variants.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Android /IOS

Please provide any additional information below.

If we  manually  return highest index  to the mediaHost it plays the highest 
variant without any issues

 Data analysed for movie  with  speed  60 mpbs

excel sheet attached with below details 

Time (ms)   chunk size  quality level

This doesn't seem like an issue with Cast SDK. MPL is handling bitrate 
switching properly. Please check CDN for any issues.

Hi team,

But we did not face this issue  when we tested the same with silverlight player 
in web app which  uses the same CDN and same smooth streaming url for playing 
the video.

Tested in OSX   with safari browser
Tested in windows with chrome browser
