Channels 171-200 missing! #52

I'm using V0.3DC on a RETEVIS RA-79 (Quansheng UV-K5), and I think I have found a major issue, I have also checked this on 0.2V and 0.2P.

I have all 200 channels configured, but on the radio, I can only see channels 1-170, 171-200 and missing, however, if I pull the config from the radio to Chirp, I do see all the channels? Am I missing something? Is there a setting that hides channels above 170?

I have tried this on three radios, one was new out of the box, uploaded the V0.3DC and also tried 0.3DB, and get the same issue on all radios. (RETEVIS RA79 (UK-K5), Radtel RT600 (UV-5R Plus) and a normal UV-K5(99)).

Not sure what Chirp module is supposed to be used or is there another software to be able to upload config? I've been using IJV Module (uvk5_IJV_v2.9R5_jh11g3.py) which seems the closest for compatibility, the later versions just mess things up. I have also tried using MATOZ Module (MCFW_V0.34.0.C_CHIRP_DRIVER_ModVer2.py) and EGZUMER's Chirp module rom January 29th, but the latter two mess up the scanning.

Any help would be gratefully received, and if you need anything from me, please let me know?

Paul CEC firmware cannot use memory from 171 to 200 ( http://www.hamskey.com/2024/01/introducing-uv-k5-version-01m-sstv-text.html ) I have not used the CHIRP program yet. (not yet supported) thanks for your comment

Ian,

Ah, thanks for pointing that out, I missed that part of the information as I got into these radios at V0.2 on. I would still be interested to hear how other people manage the memories on this firmware, so far, I have found the following, may be helpful to others: MATOZ Chirp module, good for setting the power on memories. IJV 2.95 module, Good for most things but the Power setting does nothing, just leaves all memories at low power.

I've been using the Egzumer's chirp module

Based on my understanding that this is based on egzumer's firmware
