Would it be possible to combine the VFO tuning and BFO tuning as to simulate a continuous 50Hz or 100Hz per step tuning? That would make SSB or CW tuning much easier. Also it would be great if the tuning could automatically speed up from 50Hz or 100Hz step to a 1kHz step after a second or so, so that one could tune around the CW/SSB signals with just two up/down buttons.
Is there a way to suppress the thumping / muting of the receiver during tuning? I may only guess that maybe an AVC is kicking in and disabling AVC during tuning would help?
I don't see any effect of the ATT settings. Does it work? What is the lowest gain settings and what is the highest gain settings? Maybe the ant input is simply overloaded with the internal FM preamp connected?
If that helps, I can buy and reverse engineer the communication with the SI4732 on the ATS120-Pro receiver, which seems to tune quickly and without muting the receiver.
