Images/drawings for morphological structures? #20

(caveat: i lack domain knowledge here, so let me know if I'm completely off here)

In browsing Phenoscape data, it seems there's no images or drawings of morph. structures. Or are they there and I missed it? If not, is there an obvious place to link up with for images/drawings?

(caveat: naive reply) iDigBio, EOL, Wikidata, etc have images available by taxon that could be associated, doing so could relate morphological structure information back to those databases.

There are images for some Uberon terms, e.g. the ulna and the incus. In a few cases, links to images have stopped working (e.g. globus pallidus).

For the ones that don't already have an image, Wikidata has an Uberon ID property, and 994 items with distinct Uberon IDs. Of these, 128 have links to images and 392 have links to categories on the Wikimedia Commons -- for example, the Uberon term flat bones) has a corresponding Wikidata item, which is linked to an individual image and an entire category.

So there's a couple of different ways in which we could tackle this project:

FYI it looks like there are 1,797 UBERON terms with depictions that Phenoscape knows about: http://yasgui.org/short/HkI59_nZM
