This is a really great document. It is thorough and I think it will help designer/developer communication and understanding. Here are a few thoughts:
" Mobile Accessibility - (Started: ) (Completed: )" doesn't make total sense to me as an independent start/complete bullet. To me it is more of a platform/device that we work into the design of other a11y features. For example, if we are developing keyboard nav for mobile accessibility too, we would just test windows and mac and a mobile device while implementing that feature.
List of significant changes to Checklist (by date)
I'm not sure what the purpose of this is, or how you intend to use it. Won't github keep the history of the file so that you can see all the changes automatically?
Thanks @zepumph for these comments.
List of significant changes to Checklist (by date)
That's just for housekeeping. Since I started using these types of checklist, I have been adjusting the list through development. This item may not needed. I'll change the name to housekeeping (optional) to clarity.
Commit https://github.com/phetsims/a11y-research/commit/72be19da0165724db33d91387783e72b861e59b5 incorporates @zepumph's feedback.
@Matthew-phet, if you have any feedback on this checklist, that would be great. Is it understandable?
I created a Check List (a git hub issue template) that can be used to help track the design and development process of a11y features (mainly description). I am mainly thinking of this as a checklist for the sims' description designer to use, however, it is not meant to be exclusive.
The current version of the template checklist can be viewed here: https://github.com/phetsims/a11y-research/blob/master/issue-templates/description-design-template.md
Anyone can provide feedback on improvements - what to add, what to delete, what might be tracked elsewhere.
Once content is good, I can work on the best formatting options (e.g., do we need collapsible sections?).
Assigning to @emily-phet and @Matthew-phet as we prepare to start Moleclues and Light, and tagging others who might be interested: @arouinfar, @jessegreenberg, @zepumph , @twant , @jbphet , @briannatomlinson
