I sent this email:
Kathy, Bryce, Ariel,
I'm thinking of changing the color of the dotted line in the track since the yellowish color makes it look too much like dotted lines in a street. Is there a good reason to keep yellow? Recommendations for alternate color? Comment here or in the ticket: https://github.com/phetsims/energy-skate-park-basics/issues/93

@ariel-phet said "I am certainly not tied to the color."
White looks good but has the same "street" problem. Light gray has the same problem. Light blue looks okay but looks like the track has "holes" in it at parts--that analogy doesn't work well because the sky has a gradient. Black looks like part of the structure--I'll try that.
Black seems a bit overwhelming, so I've also reduced the stroke width and dash length.
If other team members approve of this change, we will need to update the homescreen and navbar icons.
Here's a version with the new black stroke: http://www.colorado.edu/physics/phet/dev/html/energy-skate-park-basics/1.0.0-dev.30/energy-skate-park-basics_en.html
I am OK with the black stroke, but I think the "detach from track" should have a solid stroke in it. That is was it is in the Java version (but yellow). I think the track looks odd without this feature because it is a reference line for the red dot below the skateboard.
Agreed, I'll add a solid black stroke for the "detach from track" state.
Fixed above, closing.
Change the color of the dotted line on the track, it makes it look too much like a street
