User suggestion: more than 100 atoms, additional elements #82

Could it be possible for the "Mixtures" part of this activity be able to add more than 100 atoms of each element? Currently, for the elements given, 100 is the maximum you can do with the scroll. I have my students try to adjust the scrolls to make the average mass as close as the ones on the periodic table as possible. In order to achieve this, some of the elements have to show 0 or only 1 atom of the other isotope for the average to be close.

Additionally, could more elements be added to this simulation? I understand the work involved to do all of this but I will contribute in any way possible!

Assigning to @ariel-phet for the time being.

@oliver-phet can you let the user know that the number of elements was limited due to performance concerns. Also let the user know that we can visit these suggestions once iPad2 is no longer a supported platform (so perhaps over this coming summer), but with our current priorities it will be awhile. And of course thank them for the suggestion.

@oliver-phet I am going to leave this issue open, but not assign anyone for the moment

@ariel-phet now that we no loner support iPad2, is this something we should be considering for the upcoming redeploy?

ariel-phet commented 5 years ago

I think we should still keep this one deferred @arouinfar - @jbphet needs to move onto other things. Let's plan to revisit next time we touch this sim, or if it might be a reasonable project for an intern.
