Objective

In this task, we will design and prototype the SoS Wiki Page.

Owner and Collaborators

UI Team, designs and prototyping are currently being handled primarily by @Hi-Van , although direct review and input is to be provided by @OmarMoghazy @omri08. @pandevim will coordinate with us, supporting us when necessary.

Data Team, please identify what features are and are not possible. @esu2020 @pandevim @justonsky (For example, designs that are asking for non-existent data, i.e. photos or fields that don't exist/hard to find).

Wiki Product Engineer, @justonsky , I encourage you to invest in both front end team as well as the back end team. Both teams may inquire more specific details to tailor the product, whether that be specific design features on the front end, or specific data manipulation on the back end.

Current working prototype for the wiki page, unfortunately could not implement a search bar, will look into feature in the near future. Cards are color coordinated according to category as a temporary fix.

@Hi-Van @justonsky @martinisiu - just checking in here to see if you guys have an update to share on what you're thinking. Not sure if you guys have had a chance to meet, but commenting to create a paper trail!

The three of us haven't met as a group yet. But I'd say so far the design for v0 looks pretty great and consistent with the UI for the showcase. Only minor criticism / thing I realize is that the Discord link should be omitted, though that may have been mentioned already.

Hi-Van commented 4 years ago

No major development on the UI. In order to implement a search bar, it would require a filtered call to the back end database. Therefore, I'm gonna wait until a decision on the data structure and calls. That way I don't have to possibly build two search bars with completely different call methods, I can just tweak it to fit into the project UI too

phil-ociraptor commented 4 years ago

The data is so small (under 100 is minuscule), we can implement all searching and filtering functionality on the frontend! There are quite a few libraries that can be utilized to make it even faster: https://fusejs.io/ Happy to answer any questions about frontend vs backend search.

Let's pick a time to sync up. How about after next Monday's Growth meeting? I'll make a calendar invite so the time is locked in

Hi-Van commented 4 years ago

I'm content with that time, personally.
