SOF-ELK CentOS end of life #292

Are there any plans to migrate SOF-ELK to another version of Linux, considering that CentOS is coming end-of-life in June 2024?

Are there any alternative versions that the Ansible scripts and other dependencies would support at this time?

Hi! This has not slipped my mind, I promise. The road ahead will be to migrate the current CentOS 7-only Ansible build to Ubuntu and Ubuntu alone. I've just finished an unrelated but similar project to convert a different platform to a Ubuntu-based Ansible build, and learned a lot about what it'll take to migrate SOF-ELK's. It's not going to be massive surgery but as with any of these things, there will be plenty of unforeseen headaches and issues to deal with.

That said, this is looking like a Q2 project, as I'm nearing completion of a release that overhauls a lot of the parsers and some adjacent components of the platform. (See all the stuff marked "awaiting-validation" for what's on deck.). So there will be one more major release on CentOS 7, and then I'll shift efforts to re-doing the Ansible playbook.

I hope that at least sets some expectations. I'll be quite vocal about that release when the time comes - promise!
