Barleyman, remember how Bar Tab works. It disconnects pages from your CPU so they don't drain memory.
So essentially each closed tab is a link to the page. You merely have to click refresh to pull each new tab selection up.
It's a small price for me to pay as a sports writer, I have several hundred sports news sites I use for reference, and a lot of sites I write for.
At least with Bar Tab you don't have to save and load URL's in the address bar to find a website. Dude, I've had as many as 480 tabs up at one time before, LOL....
BTW, You're not using the newest version that works across all the FF updates, from 3.6 to 6.0.
It's Version 2.1b2. It downloaded in 60 secs, restarted & works great! Tabs close automatically 60 secs after leaving them. Unused tabs are greyed out. The default parameters are fine.
Load it from this page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bartab/versions/
It seems that this is resolved in this version: https://github.com/robsonsobral/BarTab
Maybe robsonsobral will send a pull request. It seems a few other guys before him did that and he changed BarTab to properly handle TabGroups.
Hello, any progress with this issue? Thanks.
Hello, anyone here?
Robsonbral fork doesn't work as it is, instead you want this: https://github.com/fhoech/BarTab
Based on the "build.sh" I made a windows cmd-file that lets you "make" bartab with windows (needs 7zip installed). Now it works just fine on FF8.
As the title says. In FF 3.6 Bartab 2.0 lets you unload tabs after x hours and it'd get restored automatically to memory when you clicked on the tab.
This does not happen anymore with FF4.0 and Bartab 2.1b2.
