Conflict with Pentadaktyl (Vimperator fork) #20

Greetings philiKON,

I <3 Vertical Tabs. My sincere thanks.

Today I was trying out Pentadaktyl, a fork of Vimperator. In case you haven't heard of them, they're FF add-ons designed to emulate the vim's modes and behavior.

Here's the nightly Pentadaktyl xpi: http://5digits.org/nightly/pentadactyl-latest.xpiIt seems to have a conflict with Vertical Tabs.

When run alongside Vertical Tabs 0.93 in Firefox 14.0.1, a big, gray, blank, horizontal add-on bar displaces Pentadaktyl upwards from below. Turning that toolbar off in turn hides Pentadaktyl completely, rendering it useless.

I've posted the issue for the Pentadaktyl developers here (+ screenshot): https://code.google.com/p/dactyl/issues/detail?id=916

Vimperator doesn't seem to suffer from the same issue.

PS: +1 for Panorama integration. [-:

A Pendactyl team member closed the issue on their side, stating:

That extension is completely broken. It moves XUL elements around in the DOM (which is illegal, because it resets XBL bindings), and last I checked, it didn't clean up after itself when it was disabled. In any case, I won't support any extension without full review on AMO.
