Doesn't seem to work with iOS 18 nor MacOS Sequoia #532

I hate myself for always doing this every year and instantly grabbing the developer betas for my Apple devices as soon as I see one shiny new feature in the keynotes, but here I am. When trying to airplay from my iPhone 15, it first doesn't connect, then does, but disconnects as soon as I try to play something. On Mac it just instantly says it couldn't connect.

[12:44:35.982] rtsp_thread:333 got RTSP connection 9
[12:44:47.574] rtsp_thread:348 RTSP close 9

these are all the logs produced by an unsuccessful connection, second line gets produced when trying to play something.

I got it working successfully with my work iPhone SE on iOS 17.5.1.

Similar issue here, setup has worked for a long time. Other non-updated devices continue to work, this, on the other does exactly as listed above. I don't see any known issues inside of the feedback/release notes from Apple as well

Update: looks like AirPlay 1 is just broken in iOS 18

Probably they have removed support for AirPlay1, so it's over

Same issue here.

Logs from the iOS console don't help much sadly.

I don't see AirPlay 1 listed in as deprecated, but I'll dig through and cut a ticket in Apple feedback. I suggest others do the same

I'll wait till iOS18 is released. It happened a few times in the past that they broke something in bêta and fixed it for release.
