organize images #13

  1. make a top level dir where figure images are stored, give it an intuitve name
  2. move images from the data and scripts dirs to the new dir
  3. modify all of the scripts that create images to put them in the new dir

it would be cool to make a README.md in this new dir that displays the images.

you display and image as follows in markdown (remove the spaces):

! [] (imagename.png)
