Successful app generation - Add chessboard theme (swipe West then South West)

I have added a chess board theme that you can reach by swiping first West then South West. Please confirm that you are able to see this theme? Also, please let me know if you have ideas for any other themes?

No, I can not see anything.

As to themes:

1) A theme with no music - only a hiss for 'correct' and 'not correct'. Plus a short sound burst for entering 'race' mode - or for going 'up' a level in the game.

2) A theme that allows the user (or app creator) to specify the sounds or music they would like to hear when they a) get an answer right, b) get it wrong, c) go up a level in the game, and/or enter 'race' mode. And this without infringing copyright.

3) A theme that allows the user (or app creator) to play something they like, quietly in the background, without infringing copyright/IP and without obscuring the prompts and feedbacks in the foreground. This would be good for persons with anxiety disorders. (Currently the music obscures the learning in places!)

The one I gave you from memory sets the "tartan" theme.

I have updated the app (by reinstalling - but not uninstalling and reinstalling) and swiping as you suggest does not change anything.

I have just uploaded version 20171106 and tried it out. You do have to play the app for a bit to get it to introduce a new fact at which point you will see the new theme. The writing in pink is just to tell me what is happening and will eventually be removed so is not subject to a theme especially as it goes away after one minute anyway. P{lease think of walking around a building site and seeing scaffolding etc. surrounding the beautiful new building.

It would be useful to have an extension for subsequent versions issued on a particular day e.g. 20171106_v01 etc.

Place your finger on the screen and allow the compass to grow. You should see "themes" to the south west octant. Slide towards it and lift, Now put your finger down again and you see the possible themes arranged in a compass. I will send you some screen shots if needed.

Lift means: please lift your finger from the screen but keep it just above the screen so you can put it down again promptly.

I think you should make more mistakes - you play the app too well - a common problem for authors!

I am glad to know that the app arouses strong emotions in you: frustration, nausea, a view to kill. Please imagine the impact it will have on a bored student who found school too dull?

After the lift, place your finger down on the screen again and let the compass grow to full size. You should see "chess". Slide (not lift) your finger towards "chess" and when it highlights, lift again. Now play the app for a bit longer until it introduces a new fact and you will see it written in the "chess" theme.

The swipe lift swipe lift technique allows one to make gestures quickly without waiting for the compass (because one has learned where they are and does not need it) or slowly - wait for the compass each time, or as a mixture.

For an easy practice gesture, try East for "say that again".

I don't know what the new theme is and the app keeps shutting down. I am very frustrated now and going to get something to eat :)

It sounds like you must be swiping South for shutdown instead of South West for themes. Are you able to swipe East for "say it again"?

Yes I can get the repeat function. I can see the object with the themes but when I move finger back into it and take my finger off the app shuts down.
