Hi! First of all: Great work! Thank you! I had some troubles migrating your app into my project. I always get the error: "RuntimeError: Error creating new content types. Please make sure contenttypes is migrated before trying to migrate apps individually."
Probably this isn't "your fault" as this problem seems to be more or less common.
I resolved the issue by using "python manage.py migrate --fake-initial" instead of "python manage.py migrate mezzanine_slideshows"
Perhaps you want to put that as a small sidenote into your README.
I also want to point out that your README is a bit confusing at point 5: " At the end of your base.html file, just after
{% include "includes/footer_scripts.html" %}
