Time out when trying to update / certificate error when trying to do fresh clone (macOSx)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Mac OSx - from Terminal tried to do `hg pull` and it timed out 
2. removed repo from computer / did a clean clone using SourceTree and getting 
Certificate Errors
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
