No data from camera on OSX #16

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Device capture upon init fails
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect TrackIR to initialize and start sending output to plugin.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
TrackIR 5 on OSX 10.7, X-plane 10

Please provide any additional information below.
I've run the ltr-gui app, installed the X-Plane plugin. Device setup default
should be okay. Tracking setup start does not yield any movement, and log file
reports "cannot open device for capture"

Should LED's on camera be lighting up? They do not.

Capturing from 'DVFreeThread - CFMachPortCreateWithPort hack = 0x915bf0,
fPowerNotifyPort= 0x915b40' @ 160x120 using '/tmp/xxx'!

Can't open device for capture!
==== end log file ============

Is /tmp/xxx a valid device?

Plugin runs ok in x-plane, but plugin is not receiving data from camera.

I keep seeing references to firmware. Am I supposed to flash TrackIR 5 with
custom firmware?

Thanks.

Also, viewing the kernel log during hotplug reveals this:

Feb  9 17:27:56 s9 kernel[0]: 0        0 AppleUSBCDC: start - initDevice failed
Feb  9 17:28:39: --- last message repeated 1 time ---

Update: I feel so dumb. Selected correct device as "TrackIR" from dropdown,
installed firmware. Device is working!

Thank you for a great project.

Hello Zane,
I'm sorry I didn't chime in sooner - the system didn't notify me of your
issue...
Anyway, I'm glad you made it working and I thank you for the donation.
Kind regards,

Michal
