Hello,
may I ask you, are you using wine bottler or you compiled wine yourself (or
through macports,...)?
Did you installed the linuxtrack-wine to the same wine bottle as the target
application? What tracking device do you use? And does the device lights up
when controller is started?
Kind regards,
Michal

I tried in on Codeweavers Crossover 13. I planned to try it on home-brew wine
today, and I'll let you know how things go. Yes I installed it to the same wine
bottle and I used TrackIR 5. The device lights up when the controller is
started. But the tester application does not work. And in game, it does not
work either. I left the controller window open but still no joy.

I'm fairly certain this is because of the X11 dependency in xkey.c. Newest
development wine versions use native windowing by default, so you should de
able to reproduce this on a mac without X11.

Hello,
let me recapitulate what the symptoms are(please correct me, if I got something
wrong): ltr_gui itself works, TrackIR is set and the tracking behaves correctly
in 3D preview;when controller is started, the TrackIR does light up.
So, given the fact that controller is able to bring the TrackIR to life
suggests, that the wine-linuxtrack connection is working. Does either the
Controller app or the Tester app close by itself or crashes?
The only problem I can think of right now, might have something to do with a
firmware. May I ask you when did you installed /reinstalled the TrackIR
firmware in the ltr_gui? If it was more than say 2 months ago, please try
reinstalling it (in ltr_gui). The thing is, that along the firmware, also some
other data are extracted, that allow emulation of the TrackIR interface.
Now, to test the tracking in wine using the Tester app, you have to fill in a
number into a textbox in the upper left corner, designated ID. Try number 1001
(it is a number assigned to a developer/game by NP) and see if you can bring it
to life.
Kind regards,
Michal
PS. I did try in 1.6 Wine and it seems to work just fine.

Thanks!
I updated the firmware and now the Tester app works with ID 1001!

Hi,
I'm glad to hear that... And the application you were targetting works too?
Kind regards,
Michal

I just tried that and it didn't. I'm trying city car driving simulator and
according to them, the latest version has full support for tracker 5. Now the
tracker works including on x-plane and wine, we just need to figure out how to
get the app to recognize it. The app does not have any controls or settingas
for tracker, so I thought i'd just plug it in. It didn't work, so the
linuxtrack-wine interface works, only not in this game. I should probably try
some other app in wine.

Hi,
may I ask you what is the name of the application? Maybe you could try to
reinstall the firmware using the 5.2.2 version - that should have the most
fresh game definitions. I'll also check in the evening, if there was any update
online.
Kind regards,
Michal

City Car Driving (http://citycardriving.com)
According to them, it has support for TrackIR. I'll also check the firmware
5.2.2Final. What version does Linuxtrack install automatically?

Well, by default it installs the 4.2.whatever, as it is the smallest one.
However it might be, that this game is so new, that it requires newer game defs.
Kind regards,
Michal

Hi,
I have downloaded the update and unpacked it; can you put the attached file
into the ~/.config/linuxtrack/tir_firmware directory? It contains the newest
definitions; if that doesn't help, I'd like to ask you to mail me (don't attach
it here) the game's executable (the actual .exe file, not the installer), so I
can take a peek at that; maybe I'll be able to find out what is going on.
Kind regards,
Michal
