I got a during install: ==> Tapping philpennock/protocols Cloning into '/usr/local/Homebrew/Library/Taps/philpennock/homebrew-protocols'... remote: Enumerating objects: 11, done. remote: Counting objects: 100% (11/11), done. remote: Compressing objects: 100% (10/10), done. remote: Total 66 (delta 1), reused 7 (delta 1), pack-reused 55 Unpacking objects: 100% (66/66), done. Error: Invalid formula: /usr/local/Homebrew/Library/Taps/philpennock/homebrew-protocols/sieve-connect.rb sieve-connect: Calling a Formula#patches definition is disabled! Use 'patch do' block calls instead. Please report this issue to the philpennock/protocols tap (not Homebrew/brew or Homebrew/core), or even better, submit a PR to fix it: /usr/local/Homebrew/Library/Taps/philpennock/homebrew-protocols/sieve-connect.rb:149

Error: Cannot tap philpennock/protocols: invalid syntax in tap!

What can I do? Thanks achMol

Having exact same issue on MacOS 10.15.6

I'm not currently using macOS and don't like Homebrew enough to want to install it on my Linux laptop, so realistically this is going to require a patch from someone using it, or a fork by someone, to get a fix.

To be clear: the above is an issue with the philpennock/homebrew-protocols repo. sieve-connect is fully maintained, but the framework to persuade macOS to install it is separate.
