ceilometer laptop popup saying "problem connecting to a software source" #27

While booted I get the popup shown in the image appearing about every hour. When the laptop is left logging I end up with dozens of these filling the entire taskbar. A quick google indicates it is probably because the laptop is running CentOS 6, which is no longer supported and the software repos no longer exist. Screenshot-1

This is due to an old unsupported version of CentOS being used. Laptop replaced with more recent linux version.
