What version of reaver are you trying? I have the same adapter and it works. I 
have better luck with some revisions over others. r90 is working good.

What problems are you having exactly?

i downloaded reaver 1.3, it goes to the auth step, then does 0 attemps/seconds 
for ever

i just got r90 still the same thing, but this time "wash" doesnt show my router 
anymore..

That is not an issue with Reaver. I'm running with the same adapter, and it 
works here. Are you running in monitor mode?

Try letting airodump-ng run but force it to the channel that the AP is on. It 
might just be in my head but I swear reaver works better if I do that.

Others have reported problems with the rt2800usb cards until after they 
upgraded the compat-wireless drivers:
