Is local notification plugin a mandatory for status bar display? #704

I'm able to get the notification payload from gcm (i'm using sns from aws to broadcast notifications) so I'm using a simple alert to popup the notification, but I have no display inside android bar status. Do we have ti install local notification plugin to do it manually?
