Better documention on what features are dependent on what software being installed #1041

From https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/openphoto/RGX6U9a0tGc

I'd suggest the documentation could be made a little clearer then.

http://theopenphotoproject.org/documentation/guide/InstallationUbuntuApache just says "There are also a few optional but recommended packages and modules." It should explain what features need what software installed so people installing can make a better choice.

Or better, could the software detect missing libraries and give a nice message? On the Manage Applications page could there be a big banner saying "OAuth not available, ask your sys admin to install"? At the moment it lets you think OAuth is working then you have to dig messages out of the error log.

Sounds like we need a documentation tag.

hfiguiere commented 11 years ago

Just added the "Documentation" label. And assigned it to this one.

Lets also add the Beginner label to these. Would love to get some community contributions kicking again.
