Sharing Token Management should have Thumbnail for Shared Pics. #1308

When viewing all of the Sharing Tokens in the admin page, a Thumbnail would be great rather than having to click view to determine which picture it is.

Sharing Token

I agree with this. How am I supposed to know what photo 183 is off the top of my head?

jmathai commented 11 years ago

You guys are so demanding.

Known issue. Trying to find the best way to display the photo.

Ha! :) How about some sort of Load on Hover over the View Link?

Otherwise, even a REALLY tiny Thumbnail would be enough - Similar to what I am seeing in GitHub right now for participants.

Or a combo of the two.. Hover over the tiny Thumb for a bigger version..

You can put the title of the picture.

Btw "hover" isn't friendly with touch screen.

CCOSTAN commented 11 years ago

@hfiguiere Good Point on the Touch.. Forgot about that. Title is good but a LOT of my pictures (probably 90%) have just auto generated titles since I mass upload them via iPhone App or DropBox uploader.

A bit off topic but I honestly think relying on titles and any other manual type identifiers has a short lifespan. My guess is people are going to want to spend less and less time organizing, labeling and tagging pictures. It's such a chore. That's why some of the things Google Photos is doing is so groundbreaking and exciting.

CCOSTAN commented 11 years ago

@hfiguiere Not to mention there are only so many different ways I can say "Picture of my kids" 5000 unique times. :)

hfiguiere commented 11 years ago

Maybe people should post less pictures then....

CCOSTAN commented 11 years ago

Maybe - But in my mind, the less pictures I am dealing with, the less I care about 'Orphaning' them on other services like Flickr, Facebook etc.. which in my mind takes away from TroveBox's excellent value prop of retaining ownership and possession of the pictures.

Obviously, each individual sees the platform differently.

Carlo.

We need to show the thumbnail :) ... ideally when we render the web page.
