ANPR or Automatic number-plate recognition is a well known and possibly one of the oldest OCR data points in existence.

Whilst it is predominantly used in the Transport and Policing sector it occurs to me that there are residential applications as well.

e.g. Show me pictures of my old car or all images with lots of cars or show we all pictures this car was in etc

Not the most exciting TAG but I would guess it could be quite reliably and cheaply determined and as soon as a tag is common, common and reliable IMO it becomes useful
