Hi Peter, this looks great!

In terms of the reference data, I think you will likely figure this out as you go through the Qiime documentation for the feature-classifier command, but let me know if you need any advice about that or any of the other steps. I will say that I only have a bit of experience with Qiime2, but I have regularly run these analyses with other tools.

In terms of finishing all those steps - indeed, you can see how far you get, it would not be a problem if you don't do all of them. As I mentioned in the final project info, it's much more important that what you do include is done with care and follows the discussed best practices, than that you have a large project with a lot of steps.
