Should I split out a new issue for server side tests? It seems we have a lot of options in terms of frameworks (http://damyanon.net/flask-series-testing/). We can easily add code coverage as well.
Yeah let's break this into server and client. For now wtiting one basic test and a test runner is good enough.

Jest is probably a good choice, it also comes with the boilerplate.
