I'd like not to loose mentioning the PPA, but likely I should update the PPA first for newer Ubuntu releases as well.
I agree, but the option of using the PPA is mentioned right below ... or do you mean something else?
In my my opinion, if a Ubuntu user can install a working version without PPA, that should be the recommended method.
And thanks for maintaining the program, it is awesome!
I agree too (both on ubuntu derivatives should prefer the os repo first and on "awesome"), but the proposed changes seem to lose the sudo add-apt-repository
bit which not every user knows (but I would use sudo apt add-repository
).
Also adds Ubuntu under "Official distribution packages".
