Having a standalone library seems to be a good idea. One would need an interface to the specific implemantions. Do you already have some ideas how this interface could look like?
Nice to hear that you are interrested into it as well. No atm I don't have much of a plan on how to structure the interface (a very important question of course). I need to look more at your code and evaluate my requirements before I'm able to make useful contributions in discussing the interface (and features).
This week I will be quite occupied with other preparations for GSoC, but starting next week I should be avaliable for planning the library. I'm looking forward to working together. If you wan't to follow progress on my project you can look at my "Activity Log" from time to time in the freecad forum: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=22576&p=174988#p174988
Hi, and thanks for the work you've done so far on the issue of creating a nice interface for ElmerSolver! I myself am going to do lots of work on this topic in the next three months since I got a GSoC (Google Summer of Code) proposal accepted for ElmerSolver integration into FreeCAD.
A big part of the project will be the processing of SIF files (input and output). I've already had a look at your code and it seems to be quite tightly bound to your special usecase (salome). Are you interrested into starting a collabrative effort to remove those dependencies and create a standalone library which could be used by other projects as well?
