Possibility to generate MC-GPU material files using PENELOPE 2008 #7

Hi!

Is there a possibility to use PENELOPE 2008 to generate new material files for
MC-GPU.
I'm currently stuck in modifying the MC-GPU_create_material_data.f file.
I managed it to get the MFP values for the interactions, but in PENELOPE 2008
there is no GRAaD1 method. And using the existing GRAaD method gives false
results for the maximum Rayleigh cumulative probabilities.
Also all "SAMPLING DATA FROM COMMON/CGRA" values are zero.

Any suggestion?

Best regards
Markus

Forget my previous question.
I just found out, that PENELOPE 2008 uses a completely different simulation
algorithm for the rayleigh and compton scattering and therefore uses different
parameter tables. So I think it is not possible to use PENELOPE 2008 to
generate material files for MC-GPU.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Best regards
Markus

Hi Markus,

As you say PENELOPE 2008 uses an improved model to simulate Rayleigh scattering
and the sampling scheme is different. Eventually I would like to upgrade MC-GPU
to model Rayleigh more realistically, but meanwhile we have to use the PENELOPE
2006 material database.
