WiFi does not work on Pi 3 - Bookworm Lite #193

Downloaded and installed bookworm lite (tried both 32-bit and 64-bit versions) via the rpi-imager. I set up my preferences including WiFi settings in the rpi-imager settings tool and burned the image to the SD card. After inserting the card into the Pi, the system was installed as expected, but no WiFi. I ran apt-update and apt-upgrade, but still no WiFi. Connecting via Ethernet I was able to connect in via ssh, but no I assigned to wlan0. I then tried to configure WiFi using the raspi-config tool, but after setting my AP details, the tool just came back with an error saying it was not able to configure WiFi - no more than that. wpa_supplicant.conf appeared to be set up correctly and I verified using wpa_passphrase that the automatically generated encrypted password was correct - it was.

I then went back to Bullseye, following the exact same process and it worked just fine.

Is WiFi on the Pi 3 no longer supported in Bookworm? Or is there a driver or some support tool missing perhaps?
