Is there anyone from Pi Team actually looking at these posts or just Randoms? #279

I left an issue about critical vulnerabilities in the node software and the silence is deafening........ and my node remuneration stopped. Well, now I'm really concerned running a hackable node on my computer.

Appears no one at core team cares. You bring up a big reason I have been a little worried about this node. The pi desktop itself has zero updates since I got it, makes me think they are not sincere about all they preach and may be an elaborate scam. I may shutdown my node since your revelation and the whole kyc personal info abuse risk is making me reconsider continuing to hang in with pi.

Glad you got your node backup. I had the same issue again.....again.....again. This time I wrote down the phone linking code that you first put into your phone when linking your phone account and the node. I'll try linking the phone again to the node when it fails for the 14th time. No one is updating the node software. It has security holes because the files used from other software is old and out of date. Do you think ANYONE bothers to anwer on the Pi Chat forums? No not a word from any moderators. I wrote "Crickets...." and got banned. Can you believe that? Try and point out a problem and get banned from the forum. WTF?

Cheers

Totally agree. No reason they can’t have a node only chat by approval to join. Or at a minimum a node announcement channel. I’ve pointed out several flaws with suggestions to fix or improve many aspects by submitting a support ticket which is also useless since not one ever got a real reply and the issues persist. Simply adjusting for screen size in the browser app so the back arrow is not stuck behind a system display icon and unresponsive. Nothing gets fixed. Only way I can use the browser is to force close depending on the screen it’s on, then reopen. That’s just a minor irritation compared to the security flaws that have been pointed out.

Most of the reasons node runners are complaining about on this github channel, all stem from no one updating the node software. No one gives a sh## to fix it. 25,000 node people are getting stuffed around over this issue. Its like a Hollywood facade, pretty front view, but just a vacant block of land when you open the door. WHY THE FAKE SUPPORT? No one Answers. Why direct pi users to github and never talk to people with problems. Its all a joke. A bad joke.

It’s getting to the point, that continuing to support pi is feeling more and more like an elaborate scheme for a few to get rich off others. Package your fraud in eloquent visionary language and people will follow. Even my son, who got me into pi, is thinking this is just an elaborate fraud. He and I staying only due to the very slim chance it does actually work. But I’m guessing if it ever hits an exchange, the value will be so low, it’ll be essentially worthless since offering billions of pi does not make it rare and it’s not difficult to mine - two major factors of value.

where is the scam?? I as well not getting bonuses but I understand my role and the part I we all play to make this happen, we have not been promised anything and once again part of a "Test" net and trust is a major part of this process, Issues may arise in any testing phase and we have been made aware of an on going issue with the bonuses, what many failed to understand that we're part of testing even bonuses and how they are distributed in accordance with the halving and scalability of the network and as expected the tuning process can be insane taking into account thousands of nodes and how the bonuses need to be calculated correctly or there can be serious problems in distribution in the long run so we rather have this issue now then when everything is 100% live and the training wheels are off, thank you for your understanding and patience, we're all in this together, your not alone 😁👍

I never said it was a scam. What I said it smells like it may end up being a scam. If the network is suffering with only 25k nodes, then it seems their model may be in some serious trouble. How many years has this been in development? Probably several years before it was posted and it’s been posted for 2 years. I’d feel less concerned if they actually posted updates - at a minimum to address security issues that have been pointed out by others. The complete silence by @kokkalis is not a confidence builder!

do you have btc??? how many times has Satoshi Nakamoto when creating btc said anything to anyone?? or even any of the major cryptos mostly all kept lots of information secret and we only know what is needed and we get so much information I never have an issue finding a solution but many have the nerve to demand as if we been obligated or promised anything?? please lets show patience and maturity, we all have choices and we have to live with them, thanks for your understanding 😁👍

This network is supposed to be built on the idea of building social engagement. I’m not seeing it. The developers issue announcements and then disappear. There has been no engagement with node operators. This is not btc - it’s supposed to be different. For me, patience is wearing thin. You’re more patient, good for you. I not s big fan of a system that allows security flaws to go unchecked and developers who ignore the backbone that may make them rich.
