Google Cast #2

Now, this is interesting stuff: https://developers.google.com/cast/

I'm wondering whether the Chrome Cast can do WebGL, I would think so: it will run at least a dual core with some basic GPU and Chrome. So that means it can display 3D side-by-side. Our LG TV (2012 model) can't run WebGL so we still need a laptop attached to it, we can't just load a website

mmm there are no hw details, but even if it run webgl it will be for very simple scenes

anyway i'll buy a few because I have other projects that might find this useful

With this push to streaming, TVs don't need to be smart at all, anything can be computed on the cloud and then streamed down: http://www.nvidia.com/object/cloud-gaming.html It also makes good case for protecting IP: web apps can't be protected
