Pieces OS 10.1.4

Early Access Program

Kindly describe the bug and include as much detail as possible on what you were doing so we can reproduce the bug.

Whenever I try to ask any question related to code, it gives me an output, but with poor text formatting. Some text outputs are extremely large, some are medium, and some are extremely small. Earlier, I thought this might be an issue with the Early Access Program, so I unenrolled from the program, but the issue persisted. Then I uninstalled Pieces OS, Pieces Desktop, and the Pieces Suite, and downloaded a completely new copy of everything, but the issue still persisted. I also tried using different LLMs to check whether the problem was with the LLM or the desktop application itself, and found out I was getting the same output on every LLM.

Hey @PawanPawar11 Thanks so much for sharing this. Can you please share the prompt you used to get this output? Also, do you mind sharing the scale/resolution settings of your current Windows machine? Thanks!

Thanks @PawanPawar11 We're going to look into this to see what we can find 👍🏼 If there are any other settings or configurations about the font, scaling, visual accessibility, etc of your machine, or software that could be impacting these properties that you could think of, please let us know as any additional context would be helpful.

Hey @mack-at-pieces Pawan is still facing this issue with the latest version of Pieces installed.

jobayermannan commented 1 month ago

I am facing the same issue. I am sure this is not related to my Windows screen size; rather, it seems to be a bug in the Pieces app. Earlier, in the initial stage when I used Pieces, the code text size was fine, but for the last two releases of this app, the text generated is inconsistent, sometimes large, sometimes small, producing a mix of sizes with any type of reply, whether it's coding-related or not

Thanks @jobayermannan . I'm having a very hard time reproducing this issue. Do you mind sharing the exact system specifications of your windows machine so that I can try and replicate your environment? Thanks so much.

@mack-at-pieces I believe the recent release has addressed the text size issue, though the title still seems larger /small than the content. Since you asked for my system specs, here they are along with my Pieces version.

If you need any further assistance, like sharing my screen so you can see the issue being reproduced, I’d be happy to do that as well.

Sharing an update here.

What we have found to be interfering with the Desktop App's font size & scaling is the Windows Text Size setting that can be accessed via Settings > Accessibility > Text Size.

If this value is greater than 100%, it's possible it may impact the font size of the Desktop App in unexpected ways. Our team will be improving the support for this over the coming weeks.

In the meantime, the way to get around this issue is to reset the system Text Size to 100%, and instead increase the system "Scale" setting via Settings > Display > Scale.

Thanks!
