3 issues/suggestions: bass extension, EQ settings, Ranking measurements quality #259

Here are some issues/suggestions I have.

  1. Does Home front page display of speakers really use the bass extension criteria of -3 dB?

Example: March Audio Sointuva AWG has the Data part saying "-3dB (resp. -6db) point v.s. reference is at 39.6Hz (resp. 35.2Hz)." It shows 39.6 Hz on the Ranking ok, but on the home page shows 32 Hz instead?

Another one: JBL 4329P has Data "-3dB (resp. -6db) point v.s. reference is at 32.2Hz (resp. 29.3Hz)." and Ranking shows 32.2Hz correctly while Home shows 29Hz.

And yet another: KEF Blade 1 Data "-3dB (resp. -6db) point v.s. reference is at 34.1Hz (resp. 25.0Hz)", Home shows 24 Hz.

And others.

I suppose this is manual and typos instead of automated?

  1. Any reason for not listing somewhere what PEQ settings were used in order to reach the equalized results?

  2. On Ranking, when changing measurement quality, should it be from that quality and up? For example, changing to quality Low, it would also list Medium and High? Or maybe checkboxes for the user to choose one or more than one criteria?

No it is automated. The value displayed is the LFX (low freq extension) and not the -3dB point. I will update the incorrect documentation.

The PEQs are all available in the PEQ page. I should add a link to the EQs from the speaker page.

  1. On Ranking, when changing measurement quality, should it be from that quality and up? For example, changing to quality Low, it would also list Medium and High? Or maybe checkboxes for the user to choose one or more than one criteria?

Yes that sounds reasonable will do.

Ok but also why are the KEF Blades not listed under Ranking, even filtering Quality to Medium?

  1. and 2. are done.
  2. still to be done but it make sense.
