That's pretty cool, how do you get that frame rate overlay? I've got the same setup so will check my numbers.
During the playback by pressing the Menu button on the AFTV remote, right to the Home button.
Bummer, my setup doesn't work that way. I can press select and get the video options but menu doesn't do anything.
Which XBMC version have you installed?
Is the playback also stuttering with your setup or runs it normal and smooth like a live TV transmission?
I used this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2790392
Seems pretty smooth to me.
Ok, thanks. I'll try this version tomorrow.
Btw: your setup has a custom FB layout. This is may the reason why you don't get the overlay by pressing the Menu button! ;-)
@Calprainn Definetely odd. The Amazon FireTV is known to struggle with framerate. Some people in these issues have resolved it (search around a bit), but, IIRC, changing to software rendering helped, and allowed the FireTV to use all its cores.
@adairjim This overlay is available through the settings somewhere.

@Alexqw Thanks for the hint. Indeed, after switching from hardware acceleration to software rendering, the frame rate is constant at 29.9 fps. In the official XBMC app the frame rate is still average but who cares!? It works for me well with SPMC! :)
Thanks a lot!
@Calprainn Glad this helped. Enjoy. :-)

I use the gamepass addon on a Amazon FireTV installed XBMC (and experimental SMPC), without any frame rate adjustment. Just a clear installation. The AFTV system display setting are 1080p/60hz, I also tried 1080p/50Hz. Even when I start a stream, whether a live game or on-demand, the playback stuttering because the frame rate average is 19-23 fps:
When I show up the control overlay by pressing the OK button, the video in the background runs like a charme with constant 30 fps:
This state happens always whether with XBMC or SMPC. Any help?
