It would be very useful to have calendar events spoken by VoiceNotify.

I use the Google Calendar app, and my events generate Android Notifications (on a Pixel 7.) Voice Notify speaks them (just like any other notifications I haven't muted) at their selected time. If I have Calendar send emails, then VN will speak those when Gmail or Proton Mail receives the email and puts up their notifications.

What other way would you want VN to speak the calendar events? If it's not an Android notification, then maybe Tasker could speak what you're asking about. (Note, I haven't actually looked at how Tasker integrates with Calendar, but it might be an option.)

@orbiterFan I'll need more information about the issue.

1. Does the calendar app post a notification for the event?
2. If so, does Voice Notify not speak it at all or are there details in the notification that aren't being spoken?
3. What is the name of the calendar app you're using? I may need a link to it in the store since there are certainly many different apps that are just called "Calendar".
4. The device model may also help if you're using the calendar that came with the device.

If the app does not post notifications, unfortunately it is out of scope to have Voice Notify read anything that is not an Android notification and you would have to find another solution as @rakolambski suggested.

If it does post notifications, Voice Notify should be able to speak them, though you may need to check configuration.

Places to check:

• Notification settings in the calendar app or individual events.
• Android's settings for the calendar app where notifications may be allowed or disabled.
• Make sure Voice Notify is enabled.
• The Notification Log will help you troubleshoot the Voice Notify configuration and point out which options are preventing a notification from being spoken.
