EZZ table information addition to mesophotic.org #153

[Uploading mesophotic_org_EEZ_16112023.csv…]() Need help to add EEZ information into mesophotic.org

💬 Entail a new "eez" table (attached) that has the id, name, and code to mesophotic.org

And then a new eez_id column in the locations table that links to this eez table. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exclusive_economic_zone)

The #id and #description columns should match the current location categories in mesophotic.org

The new table in mesophotic.org should have the column SOVEREIGN1 to be able to map the information according to EEZ, and also summarise the publication records based on EEZ.

📝 I am sorry if the column names are confusing. Feel free to change them if necessary.

@gonzaloprb - could you upload the actual EEZ table? seems like the link that is not there is not working.

Sure, here you go mesophotic_org_EEZ_16112023.csv

@gonzaloprb @pimbongaerts Should I add all the EEZs in the table on Wikipedia, or just the EEZ that we have Locations for? There are about 92 EEZs that correspond to our Locations, but there are about 199 EEZs in total according to the table in Wikipedia.

Although I could be reading the Wikipedia entry incorrectly. It's kinda confusing. Countries don't seem to have a 1:1 mapping to EEZ?

@pimbongaerts should confirm, but I reckon adding the 199 EEZs from Wikipedia is smarter thinking forward in case we have new locations in the future

Cheers, G
