On-Off-Shim Simulation and Extension for Supply Voltage >5V #35

Closed matthias-bs closed 2 years ago

matthias-bs commented 2 years ago

First the original pimoroni on-off-shim circuit was modeled with LTspice. Then the modeled circuit was modified for switching an 18V supply as required by the HiFiBerry Amp2 Class D Audio Power Amplifier (with integrated 5V regulator for the Raspberry Pi).

Improved description and added missing simulation model.

Thank you, but I strongly suspect a vanishingly small minority of clean-shutdown users will even understand what this is. Have you considered writing a blog post or hosting your own repository with this information?

Hardware hacks and board simulation are somewhat out of the scope of this repository, though I suspect we could include a link to wherever this ends up.

I wonder if there's some demand for a board similar to On/Off Shim that can also switch either the raw input voltage, or buck/boost to some other voltage for powering 12/18v external projects...
