With a newer Pandoc/XeLaTeX version some of the issues seem to be solved.

$ rpm -qf /usr/bin/xelatex /usr/bin/pandoc
texlive-xetex-svn66203-77.fc39.x86_64
pandoc-3.1.3-25.fc39.x86_64
