The Game Boy lacks a reset button. The key combination A+B+Select+Start to end the current game and return to the title screen is so common that it appears to have been a lot check requirement. Link's Awakening bends this by offering an option to save. Though I admit homebrew is not subject to lot check, it should still match user expectations.
