Ship orientation flip flops on every journey #1529

Upon leaving a station/port/etc and then travelling to another port, at exactly the halfway point from where I started to my destination, the ship's orientation flips and I travel backwards the balance of the journey. Once the ship reaches the docking approach point or planetary approach point, it will right itself and the rest of the journey goes as it should.

This doesn't happen in hyperspace. It will, however, happen halfway from the hyperspace cloud(or the point from which the destination was chosen) to my ultimate destination.

This occurs on my Dell Latitude D630 laptop with Intel Duo Core2 @ 2ghz w/ 2 g ram and Intel GM965/GL960 Integrated graphics chip set running Mint 13 MATE AND on my Desktop which is an AMD Quad core 2Ghz w/ 4 g ram with Nvidia GForce 430 Gfx card running Mint 13 Cinnamon.

This isn't a bug. This is physics. The most powerful engine your spacecraft has is the one pointing out of the back. It is used to speed you up for the first half of the journey, and then to slow you down for the rest of the journey.

If your ship were to remain facing your destination, then the relatively weak forward thrusters would have to be used, meaning that your top speed couldn't be anywhere near as high and the journey would take much longer.

If you wish to have a forward view for the journey, I suggest you use the sidereal camera. Press Shift+4 to enable this directly. You can steer the camera with the arrow keys and <, >.

LMAO...:)

Thank You for the clarification. That was really bugging me, now I'm just laughing at myself
