Please don't waste my time.
OK with such kind of answers (and wasting MY time instead /simply closing down NEW ISSUES) I suggest I could better help David Braben using your source code and leaving the pioneer forum. Or tell me a reason against it.
This is a non-issue because 1/ this is not actionable code-wise 2/ we're already entirely free software, why should we start an extorsion scheme to keep it that way? 3/ The people behind Elite: Dangerous have been nothing but friendly towards us so far, it would be unfair of us to start assuming bad faith on their part 4/ Even if a GPL violation were to be found, this is NOT the proper channel to report it (the pioneer-dev mailing list would be more appropriate), but that would be ONLY with specific informations. 5/ Pioneer and E:D are two different projects heading in two different directions. The only thing we have in common is some kind of relation to Elite 2: Frontier. (6/ Copy is not theft, thus there would be no stealing)
So, what @robn meant to say was "Not the place, and not happening, thus closing" :-)
0/ "Dont waste my time" is rather a way to say thanks we dont need - any inspiration - any howto's - any participation */7 1/ OK 2/ because you are coding gratis while other get money for your code /ideas if Pioneer would graphically be same advanced as ED than it would possibly be secondary 3/ sure typical thats so 4/ OK 5/ two different directions??? wich than?... 6/ like in 2/ (that leaves GPL's just pathetically /being a useless theory) 7/ while my programming scills are rather lower, I know that most suchlike projects are at e weary with the amount of work to be done, and with timescatchels (or sensemaking advance); I decided quite some time ago that I do something else incl.rather engaging me socially more instead _ of plan B: I would/could definatly have revived some coder scills and helped with that work2be done.
I'm not a developer so, forgive me if my intervention is inopportune, but what I just read is completely nonsense. It just shows a total lack of comprehension about free software and ethics.
Also, there was alredy a prior similiar request a year ago: #1798
while I intend to buy the game /pledge, I think if we would find out that they steal our #issues we could for example start to steal their source code ! If ever these 2 projects would/could unite (experience a fussion) my idea is consequently: let every coder-/forum- member worldwide pay fex: 1 dollar to make it fully open source!
