Looks like this class of problems may get attacked with different handling for out of sight (OOS?) handling similar to what the X series is doing. The responsible codebase is out of reach for me for now :( , but it's a "fun" issue.
NPC AI problems are known, has been reported multiple times before
NPC behaviour is a wide topic :) . I was a bit specific here with the time acceleration. Maybe it's a problem with the physics too, can't tell.
This specific issue is that Autopilot/AI is likely to crash ships during "rendezvous" with space stations in low orbit.
Observed behaviour
Ships crash on planet.
Expected behaviour
NPC Ships land even when time acceleration is active.
Steps to reproduce
My pioneer version (and OS): git 20200718 linux
