Find new name for project

The Minimalist Markdown Editor project was created in mid-2013 as a simple yet powerful, fast, and user-friendly tool to write and preview Markdown. It was then called Minimalist Online Markdown Editor.

This goal hasn't changed, but a lot of things have changed about the app, the most important one being that since mid-2014 it's also available as a Chrome app which, for consistency, was named Minimalist Markdown Editor for Chrome; and with the currently ongoing efforts to refactor it, maybe one day we'll also have a desktop version of the app :)

In addition to currently using multiple names, I (and a few users) think the current name is a bit of a mouthful.

With over 20k weekly active users across the two apps, and hopefully many more in the future, I think it's becoming really important for the apps to have a name that's hopefully a bit friendlier, without losing its expressiveness.

Here are the criteria I have in mind (feel free to tweak / add to the list) for the new name:

• One name for the whole project (I think it's good to think of it as the same app, no matter what platform it's running on, so a common name sounds great)
• Short (few words, few syllables)
• Expressive (I like how having "minimalist" in the current name of the app helps set the right image and expectations)
• Not fashionable (avoid -ly, -able, -ify)
• Although not preferred, acronyms could work too (we could fallback to "MME" for "Minimalist Markdown Editor" if no convincing alternative)

I'm currently thinking through initial possibilities and will comment there with any that seem viable; any thoughts and ideas are more than welcome, so feel free to join the brainstorming party!

Actually, Short and Expressive are somewhat antynomic

• Minimalist Markdown Editor (remove the online reference).
• It could be acronymed in MiME which looks cool, or MiniME, which looks even cooler and frenchier ;-)
• Or minimalist.md or some variations like minimalistEd.md

Hehe, good point re: short and expressive, that's a tall order for sure :)

I think MiME would have too much competition for SEO, but the others could work great! Thanks for those cool suggestions!
