XVDR-Error: transport error

Today I noticed an error the second time within two days. From one moment to another the XBMC-client (compiled on saturday from your git repository) freezes while watching live tv.

The server runs latest yaVDR with it's own xbmc client, but it was idling at this time.

Note the timestamps: about 60 minutes between starting and crash, like in my first report.

Well, the behaviour is different. The transport errors are gone.

The client obviously stopped reading stream packets from the server.

So, which XBMC version are you using ?

I've recompiled vdr last night with PLAYERBUFSIZE of 50M and RECORDERBUFSIZE of 100M. For the moment this seems to help, but I'm afraid that this doesn't solved the bug but deferred it. If it doesn't crash within the next few hours I'll reinstall vdr-1.7.21 from repo and check again. I'll also recompile xbmc with debugging enabled.

I'm not sure if it is the same, #265 seems to be related to vdpau, I'm using xbmc with an intel 945GM without vdpau support.

But even if it is a client error - shouldn't vdr just disconnect and stop playback if the buffer isn't emptied?

Is there some documentation about vdr and it's plugin architecture? I had a look at the source, but no idea where to start.

I think you're right that it's a xbmc issue. I've tried opdenkamps 11.0_p50_pre ebuild (which compiles the tarball at https://github.com/opdenkamp/xbmc/tarball/pvr-ppa-odk50) and xbmc's running live tv for two days without a freeze, now.

I tried with different Git versions as e.g. from Alexander, Lars or Rainer and with all the same result

orgel, did you try with the linked tarball, based on https://github.com/opdenkamp/xbmc/commit/0bae5c63e2ef7e4958123732a49414c695f2ce21 ? If this works for you, too, we could try to bisect the problem.

I so far always took the master Branches to compile

I hadn't have a single freeze since I downgraded to 0bae5c63e2ef7e4958123732a49414c695f2ce21. If orgel has the same experience I think this can be closed now.

Next I'll compile opdenkamp's master to check if this problem only exists in pipelka's branch.
