I checked that the block stays stable, that old sort blocks do not get switched around. And all is good, saved pipes do not change. We can change it like this.

It'd be better if "Newest/Oldest" was displayed only for dates and "A-Z/Z-A" was displayed only for alphabetical items, but I'm glad that you considered my combined suggestion good enough. Hopefully other people will find the new labels clearer than the words ascending and descending too!
