Unknown zygosity twins #33

Open ghost opened 8 years ago

Hi Ed,

Is there a way to show twins with unknown zygosity without supplying the DOB? In some cases I know that 2 individuals are twins, but I do not know their DOB or zygosity, so I'd like to display the ? in the circle like it does if you do know the DOB (like it does here: https://madeline.med.umich.edu/madeline/testdata/#tw).

Many Thanks Grant

Hi, Grant,

In Madeline 2.0, the only way is to supply a date of birth. Could you possibly use a "sentinel" or "proxy" date of birth, perhaps something like "1000.01.01"?

Hi again, Grant,

Using a sentinel date like "1000.01.01" works but you'll get warning messages that can be ignored.

Hi Ed,

You may be interested in this pedigree I created using the sentinal date for the twin issue we just discussed. Note that person 22 and 26 are twins, and the (?) shows, but the connectors don't look quite right. I've attached the input file and the svg.

Thanks again. Grant

Hi, Grant,

I'm not seeing the inline image nor the data file in github; nor do I find the attachments in my email either. Perhaps you can send them as attachments rather than inline?

Best -- Ed
